restaurants

  • In the old town of Bourbon-Lancy, La Grignotte du vieux Bourbon (3,5,km) offers very simple, typically French cuisine, with little choice. You can sit either directly in the pedestrian street or in a small courtyard outside.
  • The restaurant Le Cloître du GrandHôtel (3km) is to be recommended, or at least must be seen for its dusty fin de siècle elegance.
  • For a typically French meal, the Restaurant des Sources (3km) in the thermal district of Bourbon-Lancy.
  • In addition, Chez Paulette has now opened its doors in BL. We haven't tried it yet, but we've had good indications.
  • Les bons vivants, 598 route de l'Ouche, Perigny sur Loire. Charming simple bistro with very good food, run by a young couple. Open for lunch only, except Saturdays.
  • For those wishing to have lunch in Moulins (38.5km), a visit to the Grand Café on Place de l'Allier is a must. It should be noted that it is only possible to eat there at lunchtime and that people wishing to have a coffee must come outside lunchtimes.
  • Le Clos de Bourgogne in Moulins comes highly recommended. Very upmarket cuisine and elegant atmosphere. You can sit outside on a terrace in the park.
  • La Cuisine d'Hervé has a shaded terrace where you can enjoy lunch or dinner after a visit to the town.
  • La bulle d'air, place d'Alliers, Moulins Very good food, sober atmosphere.
  • New secret: La Peniche in Pierrefitte sur Alliers       ( 20min), located directly on the bancs of the Loire canal, beautiful, modern and comfortable.          Very top quality cuisine and equally high prices.      Must be booked in advance.
